Grow your revenue, increase profitability, delight your clients.

Technology has created a generational divide between those that grew up with it and those that are adapting to it. For the former group, technology is a way of life and does not pose the psychological threat it does for older lawyers who grew up, and practiced without it. The legal profession is grappling with the realisation that technology and process are now just as important as legal expertise in the delivery of legal services.

In this white paper we explore the following key tech trends in legal:

    • Revenue Growth
    • Business Development
    • Risk Management Framework
    • Optimising Profits
    • Human Capital Management

Leading Architecture Firm takes Business to the next level by moving to Deltek Vision

With more than 140 employees and $24 million in 2007 total revenue, Eppstein Uhen Architects (EUA) is a thriving architecture firm serving corporate, healthcare, public, retail and senior living markets.

When the company’s growth clearly warranted the implementation of a client relationship management (CRM) system, they attempted using a homegrown solution through Outlook. But to make it work they had to manually transfer project and client data into an accounting system to pursue opportunities and even track basic client information.

Eppstein Uhen once again looked to Deltek for a solution. They learned that Deltek Vision, a fully integrated solution that combines a complete project accounting system with an integrated project management and CRM solution, provided all of the functionality that Eppstein Uhen had been seeking.

HERNDON, VA – July 9th, 2014 –  Deltek, the leading global provider of enterprise software and information solutions for professional services firms and government contractors, announced that Govind Development, LLC (Govind) – recently named the fastest growing engineering firm in the country in the 2013 Inc. 500 rankings – has selected Deltek Vision to manage its business. The engineering firm will rely on Deltek as the financial, HR, and project management foundation to help power its continued growth.

After doubling the size of its workforce, Govind knew it could no longer run multiple, disparate systems for timesheets, reporting, employee data, and payroll – with no single view of the firm’s performance. It began a search for an integrated ERP solution to streamline its financial/HR management processes and provide easy access to the data needed to run its business efficiently. It also required project and resource management capabilities to ensure the right people are on the right projects, at the right time. After a thorough review of other systems including SAP, Govind ultimately selected Deltek Vision, designed specifically for architecture and engineering firms.

“Deltek Vision was an easy choice for Govind – it has all the capabilities we needed to work smarter as an organization so we could focus our efforts on delivering for our customers,” said Natesh Kumar, CFO at Govind. “Deltek inherently understands our business better than any other ERP provider that we evaluated. Vision is a scalable solution that delivers live reporting on employee utilization and the necessary tools we need for project profitability. We are excited to take advantage of the benefits of this solution and will rely on Deltek to build the financial and HR management foundation that will help drive our growth.”

“Govind was recently named the fastest-growing engineering firm in the United States by the Inc. 500 which is a huge accomplishment for a five year old firm, and we are thrilled that Govind selected Deltek to support its long-term business strategy,” said Claus Thorsgaard, Executive VP and General Manager of Professional Services at Deltek. “Deltek Vision was specifically designed to support the complete project lifecycle of A&E firms like Govind and offers a full range of capabilities from pipeline building and client management all the way to financial management and project execution. Vision is used by over 4,500 leading A&E firms, and we are pleased to add such a high profile customer to our global network of architecture and engineering firms.”

South African financial services firm Riscura selected Deltek Vision to optimise business processes, improve management reporting and financial budgeting, enhance client relationship management and enable better measurement of KPIs and profitability.  [Johannesburg, 20 February 2014]

Deltek, the leading global provider of enterprise software and information solutions for professional services firms, today announced that RisCura, a financial services firm in South Africa, has selected Deltek Vision as its fully-integrated ERP solution. RisCura will use Deltek Vision to integrate its unique CRM activities into projects and accounting processes and increase profitability.

Headquartered in Cape Town, South Africa, with more than 100 employees in offices in several African countries and in the UK, RisCura offers independent advice, analysis and reporting for asset owners, investment managers, hedge funds, private equity firms and brokers. As a highly client-centric firm, RisCura was looking for an integrated ERP and CRM solution to improve performance through more efficient processes, to deliver insight and enhanced reporting into key metrics, and to ensure tight financial integration.

After an in-depth evaluation process, it soon became clear Deltek and its local partner Silversoft could meet or exceed RisCura’s requirements, including RisCura’s unique CRM needs. Deltek will enable RisCura to move away from working in disparate systems and will support the entire project flow from CRM and project control, to financial management in a single integrated ERP solution. RisCura will also use Deltek Vision’s highly configurable platform to create and manage its own user-designed forms and fields which will support industry-specific information collection and management requirements.

“After a thorough selection process that included other major business ERP software brands, it was not hard for us to choose Deltek as they stood out as true experts in the professional services field with people who displayed an impressive knowledge of what it takes to run a project- and people-based business. In addition, Deltek Vision completely caters to our unique business processes, delivering timely management information directly from the system, and ensuring we can fully integrate our CRM with project planning and accounting. This will give us better visibility and ultimately grow our profitability,” said Malcolm Fair, COO, RisCura.

“Deltek Vision is purpose-built for professional services firms like RisCura, delivering the capabilities it requires to manage the complete project and client lifecycle. We see a trend in the industry where financial services firms are moving towards project-focused business processes as fee-based work is increasing relative to commission-based work. This trend makes Deltek Vision a very compelling solution for financial services firms like RisCura because it supports the company’s complex CRM and financial management processes and delivers easy access to critical information,” said Claus Thorsgaard, Deltek’s Executive VP and General Manager – Professional Services.

Maconomy has signed a deal with the audit firm BDO Ltd. Hong Kong, member of BDO International, a worldwide network of public accounting firms.

September 30, 2009 12:32 PM Eastern Daylight Time

BOSTON–(BUSINESS WIRE)–The Danish ERP provider Maconomy already has a strong foothold in the US and Northern Europe thanks to its specially designed ERP solutions for project-focused companies. As Maconomy’s clients expand their base internationally, however, Maconomy continues to broaden its geographical base as the preferred ERP vendor for these clients.

Maconomy recently inked a similar deal with the BDO member firm in South Africa. After a careful selection process, BDO Ltd. Hong Kong decided to follow suit by signing a contract with Maconomy’s business partner MSA in September. The ERP solution includes the Maconomy Audit & Tax Solution for 550 users with advanced Business Intelligence capabilities.

BDO in South Africa selected Maconomy’s specially designed Audit & Tax solution to ensure cleaner workflows throughout the company. BDO Ltd. Hong Kong realized they could achieve similar benefits with an out-of-the-box solution.

“Maconomy has a keen understanding of the audit profession and this expertise is fully integrated in the ERP solution we have selected. This allows us to handle job management, CRM, advanced business intelligence and all back-office processes using the same system. Maconomy offered us an all-inclusive solution to support our long-term strategy. For us it makes perfect sense to invest in an ERP system specifically designed for our type of business,” says Mary Joyce Leung, Director of BDO Ltd. Hong Kong.

BDO Ltd. Hong Kong has also purchased Maconomy Analytix, an easy-to-use business intelligence tool that gives BDO an instant overview of their key figures. Analytix is fully integrated with the ERP solution, enabling users to go in-depth with any audit job to analyze its performance based on live data.

“We are very pleased with landing our second BDO deal in the span of a few months. BDO has already seen the value we bring to their business, so it’s only natural that we keep building closer ties with them. And with that comes even greater value because we can align our solutions with the way they run their business. We specifically develop our ERP solutions to help them address their challenges and run a more efficient business. The two BDO deals confirm that we have a strong business case in the accounting sector and it definitely benefits the Accounting and Audit and Tax clients in the US as well, as it clearly shows that Maconomy is a global company with a focus on this industry,” says Steen Andersen, President Maconomy US.

Please note that this release does not affect Maconomy’s financial expectations for 2009.
