Before Choosing Silversoft and Deltek Vantagepoint

IBIS Consulting engaged with Silversoft in 2018 with the need of looking for an industry-specific Finance & Project Management solution that could meet their requirements. The main business driver behind selecting a new solution was based on a solution whose accounting capability could also manage project profitability. At the time of the first engagement, IBIS Consulting were a team of 25 people with 4 business units. When resources were shared on various projects across business units, the finance team was not able to relate the P/L between Business units easily. In addition to this need, IBIS was using a separate accounting solution combined with Excel for manual manipulation when it came to WIP and revenue recognition.

Part of IBIS Consulting selection criteria was they wanted to plan for a solution that could grow with the company quickly and easily as such the system had to be a cloud-based application that could scale according to the even further predicted growth of the company. It was also vital to the management team that the proposed solution could manage multi-companies and multi-currencies with ease.

Post Deltek Vantagepoint Implementation

IBIS initially signed for 25 users and has since grown to be a 65 user client of Silversoft’s. Their new finance-based project management solution is now centred around inter-company recovery when resources are shared on projects, including WIP and billing recognition for the different entities within IBIS. The finance team can now roll up these separate entities into one report at the Group level. “Not only does Deltek Vantagepoint allow for greater reporting across business units and at a group level, but all tedious, manual work and guestimates have been eliminated,” says Rizwana Mohammed, Finance Director at IBIS Consulting.

“The whole point of implementing an all-in-one system for our organisation was that it benefited all employees. For example, we wanted to prevent timesheets from becoming a grudge within the business, with staff being hit over the fingers when they are not compliant. I like that with Deltek Vantagepoint, staff can still submit timesheets during a week if hours logged are less than the required 40-hour minimum” says Simon Clarke, Managing Director at IBIS Consulting.
